The overall goal of my research is to better understand the genetic etiologies and outcomes among children of congenital heart disease.
To achieve this, I have evaluated outcomes in children with CHD using large datasets, such as the Texas Birth Defect Registry and Pediatric Health Information System.
CHD groups identified using the Core Cardiac Lesion Outcome Classification system (C-CLOC), a CHD classification system designed with the expertise of 4 practicing clinicians to perform outcome studies using birth defect registry data
Additionally, I have also conducted research in rare disease aimed to generate evidence-based risk stratification tools for children with structural CHD and arrhythmia disorders.
